September 2008
As the young men of a Lancashire mill town leave their homes for the trenches of the Somme, the impact of World War 1 is felt by friends, family and lovers. The story begins on a normal day in the life of the town, as yet uninterrupted by the casualties of war, and then moves into wartime.
The Accrington Pals is an extremely moving and sometimes comical story exploring the point of view of the women left at home, as they struggle to adjust to life during wartime.
